Extending the life expectancy of Black women by ten years

GirlTrek is “a global movement of Black women leveraging the historic legacy of walking and the power of self-care as a pathway to heal and transform our lives.”

In 2023, Angela worked with GirlTrek to develop four concepts focused on the ultimate goal of extending the life expectancy of Black women by ten years. The four areas of focus included: faith based programs, food and environmental justice, built environment, and supporting those who are incarcerated and who are formerly incarcerated. Angela provided design thinking learning experiences, coaching, and concept design guidance in order to support the innovation team in developing sustainable and scalable pilot programs.
