Project Reflect Joy Lab

Cultivating Joy as a Transformative Practice

At the Project Reflect Joy Lab, we work at the intersection of community wellbeing and civic life, utilizing joy as both a practice and an outcome that strengthens social connection.

The Project Reflect Joy Lab is an affiliated nonprofit initiative of Project Reflect.

The Joy Guide

We're transforming our Joyful Design process into an accessible Joy Guide that anyone can use to cultivate connection and create space for joy in their lives, communities, and shared spaces.

By transforming our Joyful Design framework into a guide, we'll equip people with practical resources to develop not just new ideas, but new ways of seeing and engaging with the world around us. We're building the relational infrastructure necessary for vibrant civic life.

The guide is designed for broad use and we will provide resources and guidance to support communities in creating spaces for joy and connection.

What is Possible

At the Project Reflect Joy Lab, we understand joy as a rehearsal for the world we want. Our new resource will nurture collective imagination, inviting participants to envision beyond existing systems while still holding an understanding of history and present circumstances.

Project Reflect was founded with food and joy at the center of our creative process. While food experiences remain a primary inspiration and portal for connection, we're thoughtfully expanding and blending into multiple creative mediums and disciplines to create more spaciousness for how people engage with joy. By embracing this multidisciplinary approach, we honor the many ways communities naturally express and experience joy while maintaining our foundational belief in the transformative power of shared experiences.
